At Santana Globally We Care, we are committed to creating safe spaces where women can heal, grow, and reclaim their power. That’s why, this past August, we conducted our Empowerment Workshops, titled Facing Violence and Building Dreams.
These seven virtual sessions were specifically designed for women who have experienced domestic violence, providing a secure environment led by a social services expert. Each workshop offered a space for reflection, self-awareness, and empowerment, allowing our participants to rediscover their inner strength.
Key topics explored in the workshops:
- Identifying women’s roles: We challenged stereotypes and explored how society influences our perceptions.
- Recognizing and combating types of violence: Learning to identify violence is the first step in fighting it.
- Impact of violence: Understanding how violence affects our emotional and physical lives is essential to healing.
- Self-esteem and assertive communication: Strengthening personal confidence and learning to express oneself with certainty.
- Self-care and safety strategies: Developing tools for self-care and creating a safety plan.
- Decision-making: Regaining control of life by making conscious and safe decisions.
- Building a future project: Visualizing and planning a life free from violence.
Through group dynamics, reflection exercises, and the development of practical skills, participants learned to recognize abuse patterns, strengthen their self-esteem, and design strategies to face difficult situations. One of the most gratifying moments was hearing some attendees share that they now feel stronger and more confident.
Today, our participants feel empowered, informed, and ready to build a life free from violence. These workshops not only provided them with practical tools but also a renewed sense of hope and determination.
