WYA’s 25th Birthday Gala

WYA’s 25th Birthday Gala

As part of the 25th anniversary of the World Youth Alliance, prominent members of SGWC were present at the commemorative Gala held in the vibrant city of New York on April 13. This event held special significance in honoring the courageous fight of Lauren Green and her family in the landmark case of Hobby Lobby against the United States government. In that historic 2014 ruling, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby, revoking Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate, a milestone that marked an important precedent in the defense of religious freedom and the rights of conscience.

Green’s vision and commitment to defending life did not stop there. Mindful of the need to promote a culture that supports the dignity of every individual at all stages of life, she founded the Life Collective in 2018. This initiative represents an ongoing commitment to the core values that drive SGWC and other like-minded organizations.

The work of the World Youth Alliance (WYA) is essential in this context. Its focus on empowering youth to build a culture based on the respect and dignity of every human person resonates deeply with the values shared by SGWC. Through programs such as the Curriculum in Human Dignity, the WYA provides vital educational tools so that new generations understand and defend these fundamental principles.

During the gala, SGWC representatives had the opportunity to learn more about the innovative projects that the WYA is carrying out. Among them, the FEMM project stands out, which offers a solid and healthy alternative to traditional and often harmful approaches to women’s health. By providing comprehensive education and access to healthcare through its telehealth platform in the United States, FEMM is making a real difference in the lives of many women.

Strategic alliances between organizations of this type with similar values represent a significant step towards achieving common objectives. By joining forces with organizations committed to promoting human dignity and defending life in all its forms, SGWC strengthens its ability to provide support and resources to women who have experienced violence, a commitment that is central to its mission.

In conclusion, SGWC’s participation in the WYA 25th Anniversary Gala not only represents recognition of the achievements of this important organization, but also a step forward in consolidating strategic alliances that will promote joint work for dignity and the well-being of all people, especially those who need it most.
